just returned from across the ditch and the sydney biennale.

truth be told the absolute highlight was richard mosse's 'the enclave'

at the galleries UNSW in paddington.

this immersive and humbling film installation on six screens

was shot on infrared film in the eastern democratic republic of congo.

terrifying, terrible, tremulous and awe-inspiring.

meryl streep as lindy chamberlain

in 'a cry in the dark' (1988)

with quite an impressive australian accent.

sam neill was also pretty great.

a highlight of the film was the 'reality effect'

of the trial by media, with a range of scenes

in which 'ordinary australians' responded to the tragedy.

scratch an aussie indeed.
